Today our port of call was Ocho Rios, Jamaica. The six of us registered for the River Tubing excursion.
Once off the ship we boarded a bus that took us on a drive through the main town and up into the jungle to the Chukka Outpost. Here we received our helmets and life jackets and signed our waivers. Back on the bus we were brought to the top of the White River were we hopped into our inner tubes and started our three mile float down the river.

The river current carried us through a jungle setting and over several small rapids. At a few places people were set up in the middle of the river with refreshments. A little further down the river one of the guides climbed a tree and shook “Jamaican apples” into the water for us to catch as they floated by to eat. They were very tasty.

It took us about 1.5 hours to float to the end of the river where we returned our protective gear and boarded the bus back to the ship.
A great day enjoyed by all.
