Brian and I walked to the grocery store early this morning for a few items. It was quite a nice walk and not too far. When we returned we had a nice swim and lounged by the pool for awhile. Today we spotted a Turquoise Browed Motmot. It was a beautiful bird well hidden in a tree close to our balcony. Today, though I was not able to get any photos we saw a Baltimore Oriole and more parquets. As expected there was more iguana drama today. A smaller male entered King Tut’s terrority trying to court one of the females and was quickly set straight by the King.

As Gary and Pam had not visited Playas Del Coco with us before and Gary wanted to check out a bike rental shop we decided to all go again. It was a very different experience than our first visit as it was a Sunday and we travelled through some very rural, residential areas looking for the bike shop.
Today locals were decorating the park for Christmas, many street vendors selling the classic pinchos – a shish-kabob of savoury meat on a stick – as well as ice cones and lots of people playing in the water. We walked the boardwalk, tried a pinchos and an ice cone and then had a drink at one of the beachfront bars. On our way home we found a different bike shop, checked out the electric bikes and booked for a tour on Wednesday morning.

Back at home we lounged by the pool, made a quick snack for supper and played some games.
I love that youβre enjoying the real life experience rather than the all inclusive touristy vacation. This is incredible.
