Polignano a Mare

Crystal clear waters and cliffs pitted with caves carved by the sea give Polignano a Mare its uniqueness. A small town, known also as the “Pearl of the Adriatic” was our base for the next 4 days.

The trip from Bari to Polignano a Mare was a short 30 minute drive so we parked and wandered around the Old Town to find our apartment as we had some time before check-in.

Our Airbnb is a unique little apartment built into the cliff with a balcony over the sea.

We spent a few days just exploring this small town. We walked all of the little marble streets of the Old Village and many of the streets outside of the Old centre, tried many different restaurants and enjoyed pizza, focaccia and pasta. We would start with a lazy morning on the balcony, followed by a swim in the sea – at one of the most photographed beaches in Italy and one where they have held the RedBull diving competitions – back for a shower and then off for our walk.

Ciao from Italy!
